Start Line Banner Problem

This year we were fortunate to produce banners and temporary signs for the 39th “Get in Gear“ races in Minneapolis. The race has grown over the years to include several races, 2K, 5K, 10K,and a 1/2 Marathon. The different races used the same start and finish line, which had the FINISH banner up because there iScreenshot 2016-05-08 06.45.07s only a few minutes between the last starters and the first finishers. This made for some very confusing photography at the starts of all the races! This is especially a problem when elite runners are pictured on the front row starting with the FINISH in very bold letters in the background.

The fix was easy. We came up with a method that the banner could say START at all the starts and quickly become the FINISH banner for all the finishers. The START banner is a temporary banner that in minutes drops away after the last starters have gone out and then be ready for the first finishing runners for the FINISH.
